Funeral planning for expats in Thailand.

Someone who knows the Thai system, there for your family when it matters.

Choose your arrangements and pay in advance. When the time comes, we deal with the hospital and the cremation — and, with Packages B and C, the Thai paperwork and the embassy — and keep your family informed, wherever in the world they live.

One English-speaking team for the hospital, embassy and Thai paperwork

When a foreign resident dies in Thailand, we take charge of the official steps and the funeral arrangements, so family — in Thailand or overseas — is not left to manage alone. When a death occurs, WhatsApp us 24/7.

Personalized guidance

A little help choosing your plan.

Tell us a little about what matters to you. The assistant reads your answers against our published packages, points out which one fits best, and lists what to check next.

Guidance for you

Your guidance will appear here

Fill in the short form on the left and choose “Get personal guidance”.

Ask a common question straight away — no personal details needed.

This assistant explains our published packages in general terms. It is not financial, legal or medical advice, and it cannot reserve a plan — the written Advance Funeral Service Agreement is what applies.

What to do when someone dies in Thailand

This guide is for anyone, whether or not you have a plan with us.

When a death occurs, message us on WhatsApp +66 85 913 5942 at any time — 24 hours a day, every day, including Sundays and public holidays.

WhatsApp us 24/7
  1. 01

    The first call

If the death happens at home or outside hospital, call 1669 (emergency medical services). If it is sudden, unexplained or caused by an accident, the police must be told: call 191, or the English-speaking Tourist Police on 1155. Do not move the body until officials allow it.

  2. 02

    Message us

Tell us on WhatsApp where you are, the name of the person who has died and their package, if they have a plan. We will guide the next steps and coordinate with the hospital, embassy and Thai authorities.

  3. 03

    Documents to find

The deceased's passport, the funeral plan agreement (if any), the hospital's medical certificate of death, and contact details for family in Thailand and overseas.

  4. 04

    Reporting the death

Thai law requires a death to be reported within 24 hours. With Packages B and C we handle this; with Package A funeral-only we guide the family, who complete the paperwork themselves (with Package A paperwork-only, we handle it).

  5. 05

    What must wait for approval

Cremation can take place only after the death is registered. If police or an autopsy are involved, the authorities must release the body first. Embassy procedures vary by nationality.

We carry out and coordinate these steps, but official documents and approvals — the medical certificate, the Thai death certificate and any embassy letters — are issued only by the hospital, the Thai authorities and the embassy.

Family emergency information sheet

Print it, fill it in by hand and keep it with your important papers, so your family knows who to call and where documents are. You do not need to send it back through the website.

In your time of loss,
let us handle the paperwork.

Losing someone you love is one of life’s most difficult experiences. When a foreign national dies in Thailand, that grief is often compounded by a demanding administrative process — hospital procedures, embassy requirements, death registration, and cremation arrangements.

You do not have to go through this alone.

Our team guides you through each step and coordinates the paperwork and arrangements on your behalf — liaising with the hospital, the relevant embassy or consulate, Thai authorities, and the crematorium.

  • We coordinate with the hospital for the medical certificate of cause of death.
  • We notify your embassy and request any letter of release it issues for the remains.
  • We help register the death at the district office, which issues the Thai death certificate.
  • We translate the death certificate and submit it to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for legalisation.
  • We collect the remains and organise the funeral and cremation. Exact requirements vary by nationality and circumstances of death.

You focus on your family. We will take care of the arrangements.

How your prepaid money is held

Before you pay in advance, here are the facts in plain terms.

Where the money goes
Your payments go into a separate company account that is used only to receive funeral-plan payments.
Financial protection
The company holds a letter of guarantee issued by a bank for customers' money. If the company closes, is sold or can no longer provide the service, you get back 100% of the money you have paid. Ask us for the details of the guarantee before you sign.
Future prices
If the plan holder is still alive 5 years after the plan starts, an extra 10% of the package price before VAT is charged — and again every 5 years after that, each time worked out on the already-raised price. For example, Package A (before VAT): 20,000 THB → after 5 years +2,000 = 22,000 THB → after 10 years +2,200 = 24,200 THB. Ask us to show you how this applies to your plan before you sign.

Your farewell, your way

We currently arrange two kinds of farewell: a Thai Buddhist ceremony (Package C), or a non-religious cremation with no ceremony (Package A or B). We do not currently arrange services for other religions.

Where we serve

We currently provide funeral services in:

  • Bangkok
  • Samut Prakan
  • Pattaya
  • Chonburi
  • Cha-am
  • Hua Hin
  • Pranburi
  • Chiang Mai

If you live, or plan to move, outside these areas, please ask us before you sign.

Family overseas and who decides

You can name family members overseas, or a trusted friend in Thailand, to make decisions about your arrangements, and we can speak directly with your relatives abroad. Write their names and contact details on the Family Emergency Information Sheet, and tell us who they are when you plan.

Cancellation & refund policy

Company-confirmed terms from the Advance Funeral Service Agreement. Periods run from the plan or contract start date.

Package funeral services apply to deaths within Thailand only. Ashes are handed over to next of kin within Thailand, or scattered at sea. International ash shipment is not included.

Within 30 days of the plan start date
Cancel within 30 days for a full refund (100%) of the amount paid, with no accrued interest.
After 30 days, within the first year
Refund of 70% of the amount paid, with no accrued interest.
During the second year
Refund of 50% of the amount paid, with no accrued interest.
Cancellation after the second year
No refund if you cancel after the second year from the contract start date, unless you have moved to live outside Thailand (see below).

Death outside Thailand

If death occurs outside Thailand within the first two years of the plan and we cannot arrange the funeral in Thailand, 50% of the advance payment is refunded to the next of kin or executor. A death certificate and/or related documentary proof is required, and the refund request process must be completed within 180 days of the date of death. No refund applies to death abroad after the second year or if the process is not completed within this deadline.

Moving to live outside Thailand after the second year

If you move to live outside Thailand after the second year of the plan, 50% of the amount paid is refunded. You must show that you have lived outside Thailand continuously for more than one year: the stamps in your passport must show that you have not entered Thailand for more than a year.

Refunds in practice

Refund percentages apply to the amount you have actually paid, not the full contract price. This example assumes you have paid 10,000 THB.

When you cancelYou receive
Within 30 days of the plan start date10,000 THB
After 30 days, within the first year7,000 THB
During the second year5,000 THB
Cancellation after the second year0 THB
  • Suppose you paid 53,500 THB in full (Package C including VAT), then moved home in year three. Once your passport shows more than a year without entering Thailand, you receive 26,750 THB back (50%). If you cancel after year two while still living in Thailand, there is no refund.
  • If death occurs outside Thailand, the 50% refund applies only within the first two years of the plan, and must be completed within 180 days of the date of death. It does not override the no-refund rule after year two.

Plan validity & outstanding payments

The plan becomes valid once full payment is received or the instalment setup is completed. Your plan start date is recorded in your agreement.

If the client dies before completing payment, under the agreement the client consents to, and authorises, the provider settling the outstanding balance from the client's bank account or from the sale of their assets. Any action remains subject to Thai law and the applicable procedures; it does not give automatic access to accounts or authority to sell assets.
